1. Score sets of letters by arranging 4 or more cards in alphabetical order.

This variant is like a cross between Patchwork and PatchWord.  The players use all the normal PatchWord actions to arrange and score set of 4 or more adjacent letters in alphabetical order, either on the inside of their hand or on the backs of their opponents hands.  Whoever has the most letters collected at the end of the game wins (you ignore the point values on the cards in this variant)!

This game has the advantage of being accessible to pre-literate children, while still being fun for players of all ages and abilities.

2. Score sets of all vowels or all consonants.

This variant is also like a cross between Patchwork and PatchWord.  The players use all the normal PatchWord actions to arrange and score set of 4 or more adjacent consonants or vowel, either on the inside of their hand or on the backs of their opponents hands.  Whoever has the most letters collected at the end of the game wins (you ignore the point values on the cards in this variant)!

This game has the advantage of being accessible to pre-literate children, while still being fun for players of all ages and abilities.
